關於青年社會參與，復旦大學博士生付優表示，大陸現在高度重視社區教育，上海197所社區學校，每年370萬居民可參與終身學習。復旦大學學生也成立講師團推動社區老年教育服務，如科普捐血觀念、手機軟體教學。
上海中醫藥大學代表韓柱表示，社會參與也受到新媒體與手機軟體影響，大陸有人研發手機軟體專門為科普老年照顧的知識，幫助許多家庭。張五岳最後勉兩岸學生，面對龐雜資訊，不要目光如豆，只獲取單一訊息，要多看、多比較，期許他們看問題要具廣度、高度及深度。
